This is a four part series in reflection of another magical season for #MadCoFBall. One more chapter left in the fourteen game season; Saturday is the opportunity for #3Peat.
Part I: The Vaquero Guard Band— The Band has been a consistent part of the support for the team. Having known many Vaquero Guard members over the years, the requests for more band photos has been repeated. And there have been more. The award-winning group debuted new uniforms, and had an impressive performance in the Regional Finals versus Union County.
Under the tutelage of band director James Deluca, the band has started to grow again. Drum major Kayla Reeves has superbly led the band, and fared well against the showtime Jefferson, Rickards, Lakewood, and Columbia bands. The traditional Fourth Quarter salute with “Four Fingers Up” by the players, cheerleaders (more on them in a later post), and fans (more on them upcoming as well) has not been as critical this year. But, you could feel the energy in those close games with Lakewood, Columbia, Clearwater International Academy, and Pahokee.
We salute and thank you Vaquero (which is Spanish for “Cowboy, cattle driver”) Guard.
