Saumenig Guilty of Cruelty to Animals, Reckless Conduct

ALBANY — Tammy Saumenig, 31 of Albany, was discovered July 4th, 2012 living in her Dougherty County home surrounded in filth and drug paraphernalia.  Worse, her two children were also found malnourished with one, a 2-year old girl, found with a crack pipe in her mouth.

saumenigShe was arrested and charge by Dougherty County Police with cruelty to children, cruelty to animals, and reckless conduct.  As her trial began, Saumenig plead guilty in a deal with procecutors for charges related to animal cruelty, reckless conduct and providing police false information.

She was sentenced for 18 to 24 months in jail.
