GBI seeks information on 2022 homicide of a 37-year-old GA man

PAULDING CO. – The GBI is seeking information on the 2022 homicide of a 37-year-old Georgia man who was found deceased in his driveway.

Release:

The GBI and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information about a 2022 homicide. Joshua Mitchell, age 37, of Douglasville GA, was found dead in his driveway on Saturday, December 17, 2022. He had been shot multiple times. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to assist with the investigation.  

Paulding County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Warrenton Drive on Saturday, December 17th, 2022, after receiving multiple 911 calls to this area about shots being fired. When deputies arrived, they found Mitchell lying on the driveway just outside of the garage of the home. Mitchell had multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Mitchell’s death. Mitchell, a Marine Corps veteran, was known to many as a contractor in the metro Atlanta-area, a hard worker, and family man.
