The Georgia Department of Driver Services Reached Another Milestone!

SEPTEMBER 24, 2020

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) reached another milestone.  Despite the pandemic, DDS has safely provided face-to-face services to over one million customers since April 1st.  As of September 24th, over 1 million customers received face to face service by visiting one of our 67 Customer Service Centers (CSCs) and DDS has processed 700,000 online transactions since the emergency declaration.

As essential workers, DDS remained open throughout the pandemic and only closed the customer facing centers for nine days to allow the agency to devise a plan where the staff and customers could interact safely and efficiently.  “I am very proud of our staff!  DDS driver examiners, as well as the administrative office team that supports them, have risen to the occasion. Serving one million customers, face-to-face, during this unprecedented time is a tremendous accomplishment,” commented Commissioner Spencer R. Moore.

Like most other essential agencies/businesses, DDS has seen significant workforce shortages.  Due to these shortages and limits on gatherings, an appointment system for all services was created to ensure safe and timely service.  Appointments can be made online at https://dds.georgia.gov/your-georgia-drivers-license/appointments.  Same day and/or next day appointments are available for booking.

DDS encourages customers to first try obtaining their licensing service using DDS Online Services or via the free Mobile App DDS 2 GO. Anyone unable to use remote services, are encouraged to  make an appointment for a prompt and safe in-person visit at https://gaddsnqa.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/jst3d93jhe.
