The discussion to mandate a statewide school start date never even made it to the table at today’s State Board of Education meeting. Behind the scenes talks made their way to the news and then around the state via social media yesterday, but it was scrapped from the agenda before the meeting even started. Local districts are free to start their school year as they see fit.
