DragonCon, one of the largest sci-fi/fantasy pop culture events in the U.S., has decided to terminate the in-person convention due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. As stated on the DragonCon website, “After many months of hand-wringing, sleepless nights, and more Zoom meetings than we can count, we have decided that Dragon Con 2020 event will not be held in person.” Instead, the DragonCon organizers have opted to go virtual and rollover all payment fees to the 2021 year. This way, members don’t need to repurchase tickets for next year’s event.
