As reported by AJC, a St. George Island sheriff became heated when he learned that GA Senator Bruce Thompson had come home to his beach house on the island despite being infected with the Coronavirus. Prior to Sen. Thompson’s arrival, Sheriff A.J. Smith had warned him against coming— especially since there hadn’t been a case of COVID-19 in the county. After the Senator claimed himself clean, ignored the admonition, and returned home, Sheriff Smith posted a deputy outside his house to enforce the two week quarantine.
