Over the next weeks, Georgia residents will be receiving information in the mail for the 2020 census.
WHAT IS THE CENSUS?
The United States has conducted a population census every decade since 1790. Every 10 years, the census accounts for everyone living in Georgia and helps the state prepare for the years to come.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU?
Responding to the census helps your community gets its share of federal funds spent on schools, hospitals, roads, and much more. Additionally, businesses use census data to decide where to build offices, stores, and factories – thus creating jobs.
WHAT’S NEW WITH THE 2020 CENSUS?
The 2020 census will be historically relevant because it will be the first ever to largely be completed online.
