LANIER CO., Ga. – On Friday, January 24 around 1:00 p.m. investigators wit the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office and patrol deputies spoke with the residents at 44 East Bostick to request their permission to allow a search of the home after receiving information that methamphetamine was being used and sold from the residence.

They were granted permission to search and a quantity of methamphetamine was found in the home. One of the residents had a pipe, typically used for smoking methamphetamine, in his pocket. The pipe did field test positive for methamphetamine and the quantity of methamphetamine that was located in the living room of the house also tested positively using the field testing method for methamphetamine.

Roy Fulton Stone, 50, was arrested for possession of meth

Arrested at the scene for possession of methamphetamine were: Roy Fulton Stone, age 50 of 44 East Bostick, and Lucious Nathaniel “Nate” Barnes age 22 of 59 East Bostick, Lakeland, Georgia.

Lucious Nathaniel “Nate” Barnes, 22, was arrested for possession of meth

Barnes told the Investigators that the quantity of methamphetamine was his. Stone only admitted to picking up the pipe and hiding it when law enforcement arrived.

“We receive a lot of great information from members of the public, neighbors, business people, and other law enforcement officers and agencies. I am so thankful for that,” commented Lanier Co. Sheriff Nick Norton. “All of that information is appreciated and it is all carefully sifted and analyzed and, in the end, we begin to develop a clear view of who is using and dealing drugs or stealing and selling items and then when the time is right we will act on it. Sometimes people get upset because they tell us ‘they know for a fact’ that someone is dealing drugs and want us to “just go arrest them”. It doesn’t work that way. Everyone has rights and we have to have more than a hunch. It takes time. Sometimes it takes years. But, in the end, people are held accountable and given a chance to change. “
