ATLANTA, Ga. – The quick actions of a 5-year-old helped save the lives of eight people during a house fire on Sunday night. 11Alive reports that young Noah woke up to see the room that he shared with his 2-year-old sister was on fire.
The boy helped his sister escape through a bedroom window then ran next door to alert his uncle, who was then able to help the rest of the family escape. A total of five adults were taken to the hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation. Noah suffered minor burns to his hands and singed hair.
Fire officials say they suspect the fire was sparked by an electrical malfunction that started in the children’s bedroom and the home did not have a working fire alarm. According to the family, the house is in total loss and is looking to the community for help.
