MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. – A former Murray County detention officer has been arrested on four charges, including three counts of sexual assault. The GBI arrested 24-year-old Bryson Wallace Starks on Friday. Jail records show that he was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, according to AJC.
In March of 2019, Starks was placed on suspended leave after an inmate reported “inappropriate conduct.” Days later he was fired after only working for the sheriff’s office for nearly nine months.
Starks was fired for violating the office’s “code of conduct” and is being held in Whitfield County because it is customary to not hold law enforcement officers in a jail operated by their department.
