TROUP COUNTY, Ga. – During a traffic stop, Troup County Sheriff’s office found multiple bottles containing Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a drug commonly known for “date rape.”

GHB, which was once a legal supplement sold in stores like GNC for weightlifters to sleep, was criminalized once abuse of it became prevalent.

Lieutenant Nathan Taylor initially stopped the vehicle for a window tint violation. Taylor then noticed suspicious behavior from the two passengers which caused him to deploy the agency’s drug-sniffing dog.

The K9, Chapo, conducted a “free-air sniff” and detected the presence of a narcotic odor. During the search of the vehicle, authorities found methamphetamine, LSD, marijuana, and two gallons of GHB.

Both passengers of the vehicle, 26-year-old Jessica Partridge and 47-year-old Ashley Prince, have been arrested and charged with possession of GHB with intent to distribute. Prince, who was the driver, is facing additional charges in Lee County for the narcotics found during the search warrant.
