BERRIEN CO., Ga. – According to Berrien County Sheriff Ray Paulk, a freak hunting accident between two 16-year-olds lands one of them in the hospital; however, at this time it does not appear to be a hunting accident at all, says WALB.

Paulk says that the victim, Irwin County Indian’s #7 Garland Benyard, was found responsive on the scene and has been transported to a hospital in Macon to have the bullet removed. His mother and grandmother said he is doing well.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has been called and is currently on the scene.
