COLQUITT CO., Ga. – Lynn Giddens Purvis, Colquitt County Clerk of Superior Court, has been identified as the woman hit on Friday, November 15, 2019, by a pickup truck in downtown Moultrie.
Purvis was taken to Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville and placed in the Intensive Care Unit after she was knocked 20 feet from where she was walking on First Avenue Southeast at South Main Street just before noon, according to The Moultrie Observer.
The driver, identified as Yordanis Blanco Vincent, was headed down South Main Street and took a left turn on First Avenue when Purvis, walking across First Avenue from the courthouse towards the Moultrie Pawn Shop, was struck by his truck.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating as standard protocol and no charges at this time have been made. Security footage obtained by GSP from the Moultrie Pawn Shop only showed South Main Street, not First Avenue East, The Moultrie Observer reported.
Purvis was elected by 201 votes in 2013 to her position as Colquitt County Clerk of Superior Court and is well known throughout Colquitt and surrounding communities.
