CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. – Two Etowah High School teens who created a plan to attack their high school back in 2017 have now been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Investigators found a list which had the names of special education students, their teacher and others, according to Assistant District Attorney, Rachelle Carnesale.

Also found with the list were weapons and explosives which Alfred Dupree, 19, and Victoria McCurley, 18, had planned to use in their attack on the school.

Some of the things that were said as a part of the “hit” list were shocking.

They had planned to throw smoke bombs and “pick,” people off starting at the East Wing of the school. As the smoke filled the hallways, they wanted to throw explosives and “kill as many people,” as they could, the list explained.

They even drew up a map of the school to further plan their hit.

Both students were arrested at the age of 17, but on Friday they plead guilty to six counts of conspiracy to commit murder along with other charges.

This case has shaken up the Cherokee County community.

Sergeant Marianne Kelley expressed how serious this is and that they, “don’t want anything to happen to the students in our county, to our community.”

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office want to do everything they can to protect their community because it’s become “personal,” for everyone in the community.
