GBI investigates after woman found injured in burning home

COLQUITT, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Baker County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an early Monday morning incident in which an injured woman was found inside a burning home east of Colquitt, Georgia.

Officials responding to a residential fire in the 4800 block of Georgia Highway 253 reportedly found Georgia Mae Green Griffin, 61, which “sharp force trauma.” Griffin was airlifted to a hospital and is in critical but stable condition, reports stated.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire and the cause of Griffin’s injury.
