MADISON COUNTY, Fla. – A man was hospitalized following an ATV crash in Madison County on Thursday.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash occurred around 8:22 p.m. on SE Balboa Drive.
The crash report states that 22-year-old Trace Mendheim, of Lee, was driving an ATV east on the south grass shoulder of the road. FHP says he traveled across the roadway onto the north shoulder, traveled through a drainage ditch and overturned. He was thrown from the ATV during the crash.
Mendheim was taken to Tallahassee Memorial with serious injuries.
The crash report shows the driver will be cited for operating an ATV on a roadway.
