
MOODY AFB – Four pilots are under investigation at Moody Air Force Base after flying at a low altitude Monday in North Carolina.
The four MAFB pilots have been grounded while officials determine investigate the incident. The pilots flew at a low altitude over Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte shortly after take off from a nearby airport on a return trip to Moody. Each of the pilots was flying an A-10C Thunderbolt II.
23rd Wing Commander Colonel Thomas Kunkel released a statement saying Moody takes aviation safety very seriously, and the base is working with the FAA to ensure civil and military aviation instructions were complied with.
