
As the start date for the new school year approaches Thomasville school resource officers are putting in place a new campaign called “see something, say something”. The initiative is designed to bring accountability to all schools and all students. When reporting crimes or suspicious behavior students will be able to remain anonymous.
Tifton residents are being alerted to the possibility of finding rust in their water, but officials say that it is due to the public works department flushing of area systems. The effort pushes out unwanted materials to insure that the water pipes are clean. The water will clear up within several hours or in one day.
U. S. Senator Johnny Isakson has been endorsed by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for his re-election bid. He was recognized for his 92 percent rating with the chamber since first being elected in 1999. Isakson served in the U. S. House of Representatives for three terms prior to becoming a Georgia Senator in 2004. His challenger is Democrat Jim Barksdale, an Atlanta businessman.
