VALDOSTA – April is Prevent Child Abuse Month, and the 20th Annual Blue Ribbon Campaign Kick-Off is this Friday, April 8 at the City Hall Annex 1902 W Hill Ave.

Proclamations will be given by Bill Slaughter, Lowndes County Board of Commissioners and Mayor John Gayle, City of Valdosta.

The featured speaker is Chief Master Sergeant Retired Kenneth Lilly.

1,231 pinwheels will be placed on the courthouse lawn representing the number of abused children in Lowndes County in 2015.
