SYLVESTER, GA – Police in Sylvester are working to identify a body found in a ditch Monday afternoon, and officials say it could be that of a man reported missing over the weekend.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the efforts. Authorities have not released the name of the man, but believe a relative called 911 about the body just before 2 p.m. Monday. The body was found in the 100 block of Peach Avenue, reports WALB.
