ALBANY – A plane that crashed more than a week ago, killing three, was also involved in another crash in 2007, according to reports from the National Transportation Safety Board.

On Jan. 31, a 2002 Lancair 4 crashed shortly after take off at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport in Albany. Britt Knight, 40, Brittany Kerfoot, 30, and Kevin Coalson, 49, died in the crash, which is being investigated by NTSB officials.

The same plane was reportedly involved in an incident at a Utah airport in June 2007. The plane sustained substantial damage when it ran off the runway, crashing into a fence. Officials determined the accident was caused by engine inlet icing, reports WALB.

Investigators are now looking at the 2007 damage and repairs as well as the plane’s GPS system to determine exactly what caused last Sunday’s crash.
