HOMERVILLE – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation raided two convenience stores Thursday during an investigation into illegal gambling.
Investigators have accused the operators of a BP station store on West Dame Avenue in Homerville and the X-Press Mart in Enigma of giving out cash for winnings to undercover agents.
Both stores have gambling machines, which are legal, but winnings can only be collected as store credit.
Kenny Patel, 41 of Homerville, and Samantha Johnson, 30, of Enigma were arrested in the sting, reports WALB.
