COLQUITT COUNTY – An 11-month-old child is on her way back to her mother after being abducted from a Colquitt County home Friday by the mother’s boyfriend.

Kendaries Antorry Smith, 22, has been charged with kidnapping after he allegedly took the child following a fight with the girl’s mother, reports The Moultrie Observer.

The child was taken from her home on Hawthorne Drive at approximately 6 a.m. Friday. Investigators with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office tracked Smith to Pratville, Alabama and alerted local authorities.

Smith reportedly gave the child to a person he was not familiar with, and that individual’s mother took the child to the Pratville Police Department. Smith has been transported back to Colquitt County, and child welfare authorities in Alabama are working with Georgia officials to return the child to her mother.
