EVANS — A teenager has been arrested and charged with stabbing his mother and sister.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office released a statement to media stating Justin Tyler Butts, 19, was arrested and charged with stabbing his mother and 17-year old sister “multiple times”.  Both victims were taken to an Augusta-area hospital.  There was no report on their condition.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in north Evans.  As deputies responded to the call, they noticed a man matching the suspect’s description walking along the road wearing blood-stained clothing, according to the report.

Butts was detained by the deputies while others responded to the scene of the stabbing where they found his sister and mother.

Charges against Butts include aggravated assault with a knife.
