LAKE CITY — A pedestrian hit by two vehicles died in an accident.  The incident occurred last week in Lake City and is being investigated as a hit and run.

Hernan Figuroa, 67, walked directly into the path of a vehicle at the intersection of US Highway 90 and SE Defender Drive.  The right-side mirror of the first vehicle, a car, struck Figuroa as the driver tried to avoid striking the victim with his car.

As Figuroa attempted to get up, a second vehicle, reported to be a tractor-trailer truck, struck him.  However, the second vehicle made no attempt to stop, according to the Florida Highway Patrol in a published report from First Coast News.  The report states witnesses could not identify any markings on the truck to assist investigators.
