ELLAVILLE — Two escaped convicts are again in custody after being found early Wednesday morning.
Brad Vanlerberghe and Dewey McCormick were found in Macon County around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday after escaping from the Schley County Jail the night before. It only took hours for authorities to find the inmates at a home. The residents are not currently suspected as being involved.
The inmates were discovered missing at 10:00 Tuesday night. Reports from WALB state authorities as crediting a state truck as providing the get-away vehicle for the inmates. However, the investigation into the break-out is still underway.
Neither escapee was considered dangerous as they were both being held on non-violent charges. One was for theft and trespassing, the other a parole violation.
Personnel from the Georgia State Patrol, Macon County, Schley County, Sumter County and the city of Ellaville were involved in the search.
