MACON — A former GBI agent was arrested Monday at his home in Knoxville, TN on charges related to sexual misconduct and child molestation in Bibb County.

The Macon Telegraph is reporting that Charles Woodall, 34, is accused of nine counts of child molestation, six counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors and violating his oath of office.  The site sourced a GBI news release.

District Attorney David Cooke’s office received allegations of Woodall’s sexual misconduct and the GBI launched an investigation on September 11.

Less than a month later, Woodall resigned his position as a GBI agent which he held since December of 2011.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested Woodall.  He was booked into the Knox County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Georgia.
