ARLINGTON — Reports from Early County state a suspect was shot and killed by a deputy Tuesday afternoon.

WALB is quoting the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as as stating a man is dead after the officer shot and killed him in a parking lot.

The report states the incident occurred at the store Jerry’s on Highland Avenue near Georgia Highway 62.  The man died at the scene.

The Early County Sheriff did not release the suspect’s name in the report, nor the name of the deputy.

The report stated witnesses claiming a man had been harassing employees at the store prior to the shooting.
