State Officials Warn of DUI Danger During Holidays

DUI Breathalizer ATLANTA, GA – State officials are advising travelers take caution when hitting the road this holiday season.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is reminding citizens to find a designated driver to avoid alcohol-related crashes this year. Between Nov. 20 and Dec. 31 2012, Georgia had 1,119 alcohol-related accidents. 679 of those resulted in injuries and 20 resulted in deaths. State officials said there were 264 alcohol-related fatalities in Georgia in all of 2012.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is partnering up with TEAM Georgia to raise awareness this holiday season of DUI dangers. TEAM Georgia is a sober driving coalition made up of businesses, public safety officials, and members of Atlanta’s sports teams.
