ATLANTA, GA – Following the success of this past summer’s Georgia Grown Farmer Showcase events, Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black announced today that the Georgia Department of Agriculture will host the first ever Georgia Grown Christmas Showcase on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Atlanta State Farmers Market. The Showcase event is aimed at increasing the consumer retail experience at the Atlanta State Farmers Market and connecting consumers with producers and products that are exclusive to Georgia.

“We have seen tremendous support from both producers and consumers of Georgia Grown products across the state for our showcase events,” Black said. “As we head into the holiday season, we felt that a Christmas showcase would be a great way to offer consumers an opportunity to purchase local products that you cannot find in stores. The showcase encourages consumers to remember Georgia’s producers and agribusinesses during the holiday season, while also supporting our state’s local economies.”

The Georgia Grown Showcase will serve as a “one stop shop” for holiday gifts with over 60 Georgia Grown vendors in attendance. Visitors will find a wide range of locally grown products including holiday gift baskets, greenery, Christmas trees, pastries, sauces, salsas, jams, jellies, honey, pecans, wines, cheeses, olive oil, homemade soaps, candles, candy and more. In addition to Georgia Grown products, visitors may also enjoy a visit and photo with Santa from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and chef demonstrations that will be taking place throughout the day.

Located on exit 237 off I-75 in Forest Park, the 150-acre Atlanta Farmers Market is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The showcase will be held in the market’s Exhibit Hall where visitors may enjoy indoor shopping with free parking and admission.
