UGA Hopes to Boost Black Male Enrollment

UGA University of Georgia ATHENS, GA – The University of Georgia has launched a $10,000 program to help increase black male enrollment at the university. Currently black males make up 3 percent of undergraduates at the Athens campus. There are nearly twice as many African-American females at the campus, but both numbers do not reflect, appropriately, the amount of African-Americans in the state of Georgia, almost one third. Most of the initial grant will be used to pay for recruiting events to get prospective students to campus.
