A 77-year old truck driver from Jasper has died after he was found dead inside his dump truck. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol states that Troy Smith died in the cab of his truck around 1:40 Wednesday afternoon.

The truck was stopped on the northbound shoulder of SR-6 when, according to officials, he suffered a fatal medical episode. The truck rolled off the road and into a nearby wooded area.

Smith was pronounced dead on the scene by Hamilton County EMS- no foul play is suspected.
