Miami, FL- Just four days after the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, we have our first named storm of the year.

Tropical storm warnings are now in effect for Lowndes, Lanier, Cook, Berrien, Thomas, Brooks, Atkinson, Coffee, Clinch, and Echols Counties in GA, in addition to Suwannee, Hamilton, and Madison Counties in FL.

The storm is expected to make landfall Thursday in the Big Bend area and move northeast over south Georgia. As of the 5am update from the National Hurricane Center, its maximum sustained winds sit at 60 miles per hour.
