Voters in Hamilton County, Florida approved a renewal of a tax for funding education by a vote of 586 to 331.

The Hamilton County School District officials say the tax will generate $200,000, money that is needed to help overcome a half million dollar deficit.

Residents have already been paying the tax for the past four years, and the extension will last another four.
