VALDOSTA — Narcotics investigators charged a suspect with trafficking fentanyl after an April 24 operation.

On April 24, 2026, Narcotics Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department conducted an investigation after receiving information that a person was bringing a quantity of Fentanyl to his residence in Valdosta. After validating the information they received, detectives contacted Robert Adams McGhin, 43, at his residence in the 2000 block of Azalea Drive. McGhin was found to be in possession of approximately 2 ounces of Fentanyl. McGhin was arrested without incident and transported to Lowndes County Jail. He has been charged with trafficking fentanyl (felony). “This was incredible teamwork by our department,” said Chief Leslie Manahan. “The minute our patrol officer received this information and passed it along to our Narcotics Unit, they immediately took action. The proactive response of everyone involved resulted in a quantity of this extremely dangerous narcotic being taken out of our community.”
