VALDOSTA – The 2024 Catfish Swim Team and a Valdosta High School student are recognized for their recent outstanding achievements.

Some of our students were able to attend last night’s board meeting and be recognized for their recent outstanding achievements.

Neveah was the first diver to compete for VHS in school history.

Kerry Smith, Amelia Blevins, Ann Harrell Blevins and Stella Blevins qualified for the state meet in all 3 relays. They set the school records in the 200 Medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. First relay team in school history to qualify in a relay for the state finals and set the school record in most points scored in school history.

Senior Kerry Smith earned region honorable mention honors for her 3rd place finishes in 200 IM, 500 freestyle, 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Junior Stella Blevins was region honorable mention for her 3rd place finish in 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Junior Ann Harrell Blevins qualified individually for the state meet in the 100 breaststroke for the 3rd time. Was region honorable mention for 3rd place finishes in 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

Freshman Amelia Blevins qualified in the 200 IM individually and was the first individual since 2015 to qualify for the finals at state. Set the school records in the 200 IM, 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle this season. First team all region for placing 1st in 200 IM and was 3rd place in 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
