VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University welcomes GBI Special Agent in Charge Jason Seacrist for a discussion on Criminal Investigations.

Special Agent in Charge Jason Seacrist will present Georgia Bureau of Investigation: Leadership Lessons From High Profile Criminal Investigations from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Valdosta State University’s Student Union Theater or via Zoom at https://bit.ly/45S2rK5. This event is open to the public.  

Seacrist was promoted to special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 4 Investigative Office in Douglas about a year ago. He is responsible for supervising criminal investigations across an 11-county area. 

Seacrist is a veteran of the United States Navy. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from VSU in 2005. He will discuss practical leadership lessons using cases he has investigated during his career with the GBI, including the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery.  

Seacrist’s visit, which is sponsored by VSU’s Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration, is part of the university’s recognition of Ethics Awareness Week, which kicks off Monday, Nov. 6, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 12.
