LOWNDES CO. – The GDOT is notifying Lowndes County motorists of nighttime pavement work on I-75 South at exit 16/SR 38.


What: Pavement preservation, spot mill and inlay travel and ramp lanes. Milling grinds into the upper layer of pavement to remove ruts and other imperfections. Inlay paving covers the milled area and levels the road.

Where: Lowndes County Interstate 75 South from north of state Route (SR) 38 to south of Mud Creek. Ramp work will be at Exit 16/SR 38 South.

When: Begins Monday, Aug. 15. Expect double lane closures beginning at 7 p.m. Lanes are expected to reopen by 6:30 a.m. the following day.
