On November 22, 2020, at approximately 12:25 am, a detective with Valdosta Police Department was traveling behind a vehicle that kept crossing over the double center lines on the roadway. The detective conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 2000 block of Northside Drive to check on the driver. While speaking with the driver, later identified as Terrell Kirkland, the detective observed a baggie that contained methamphetamine. Kirkland was detained and the vehicle was searched. During the search, over 22 grams of methamphetamine was located, along with 18 Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills and a pipe with white residue on it. The methamphetamine had an approximate street value of $4,536, and the Oxycodone Hydrochloride’s approximate street value was $180. Several baggies and two scales commonly used in the sale and distribution of narcotics, were also found in the vehicle. A handgun was found in the driver compartment of the vehicle as well. Kirkland was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail on the following charges:

Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of or Attempt to Commit Certain Felonies (Felony)

Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects (Misdemeanor)
