On June 14, 2020, at approximately 10:37 pm., Valdosta Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Hudson Street, for a 911 call about a subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds to his body. Officers provided first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene. EMS transported the victim to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department and Crime Scene Personnel from the Valdosta Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to the scene to investigate the incident, which is being treated as a homicide.

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, Michael Jermaine Evans turned himself in to Lowndes County Jail on his active arrest warrant.

The Valdosta Police Department is still looking for Ivanson Xavier Davis, who should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows his whereabouts, we urge them to call 911 immediately.

The case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.
