VALDOSTA, Ga. – A contractor working for the City of Valdosta will be working at the 2500 block of Jerry Jones Drive near Millpond Road and Lake Drive. The work involves replacing and upgrading sanitary sewer mains and rehabilitating several manholes. This project is part of the City’s extensive and ongoing sanitary sewer system improvement program.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, February 17, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. and should be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.

The project will require Jerry Jones Drive to be closed to thru traffic between Gornto Road and Berkley Drive. Access will remain for local traffic and residents in the area. All thru traffic will be detoured via Berkley Drive. Traffic control and devices will be in place to inform motorists of the road closure and detour. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and follow the traffic warning signs for their safety and the safety of others.
