“In an effort to keep our community clean, citizens are encouraged to bring residential scrap tires to Public Works for FREE disposal. Tires must be of regular car/truck size and off rim. No commercial, over-sized or tractor/equipment tires will be accepted. Tires will be accepted at Lowndes County Public Works, 550 Gil Harbin Industrial Boulevard, Monday – Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The last day to drop off tires is February 29. Limit 50 tires per address. The program is being funded via a State of Georgia scrap tire disposal grant. For more information, please contact Lowndes County Public Works, 229-671-2700.”
