VALDOSTA – According to a statement from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Prince Blige, a 55 year old inmate at Valdosta State Prison, died in a local hospital on Wednesday.

The statement says it is believed that he had fought with another inmate and had been injured.

Blige had been serving a life sentence for rape, and had numerous other convictions.
