VALDOSTA, Ga. – On December 14, 2019, at approximately 3:21 p.m., patrol officers with Valdosta Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Bemiss Road in reference to a subject illegally entering two commercial vans.

The witness that observed this incident was able to give 911 Dispatch a description of the offender and responding officers were able to locate the subject in the immediate area. He was later identified as a sixteen-year-old juvenile. Items stolen from the vehicles were recovered from the offender’s possession. This case will be handled by the Department of Juvenile Justice due to the age of the offender.

“We could not be more thankful to the witness in this case who immediately notified law enforcement and took note of everything she witnessed,” stated VPD Lt. Scottie Johns. “Citizens looking out for one another is often the reason these cases get solved.”
