LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. – A young child died around noon in a car accident on Interstate 75 Saturday.

According to Sheriff Ashley Paulk, The child was one of four people in a single vehicle accident traveling in the southbound lanes near mile marker 26.

The child was four or five years old. One occupant was life-flighted to a hospital and the other two survivors were taken to South Georgia Medical Center.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
