UPDATE: 12:05 PM – W.G. Nunn Elementary has been given the all clear from local emergency responders and Moody Air Force Base following a bomb threat earlier this morning.  Nothing was found as a threat on campus, however, the safety of our students, faculty and staff is always the first priority.

Parents who want to check out their children should report to the main office of the school and follow normal check-out procedures.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we cooperated with local officials working through this response at W.G. Nunn Elementary School,” VCS Public Relations Director Jennifer Steedley said. “Everyone is safe, headed back to class and/or lunch and ready to finish out the school day.”

VALDOSTA, Ga. – W.G. Nunn Elementary School received a bomb threat around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019, according to Jennifer Steedley, Public Relations Director at Valdosta City Schools.

According to Steedley, as soon as the threat was received, authorities were alerted and brought on scene.

First responders swept the campus during an initial run and Moody Air Force Base is currently on-site to do a final sweep of the entire facility. All students have been evacuated until the completion of the sweep and are accounted for.

Valdosta City Schools takes all threats very seriously, Steedley said, adding that “each will be thoroughly investigated as the safety of our students, faculty and staff is always the first priority.”

A final release will be issued as soon as an all-clear has been given.
