VPD: Increase in Catalytic Converter Thefts

VALDOSTA, Ga. – According to a Valdosta Police Department report, over the last three weeks there have had a rise in catalytic converter thefts in Valdosta and the Lowndes County area.

“The offender(s) seem to be targeting vehicles such as church vans and daycare style buses,” stated VPD Lt. Scottie Johns. “We suggest parking these types of vehicles in well-lit areas and in the view of surveillance cameras.
