VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Sunday, October 20, 2019, at approximately 4:21 a.m. Valdosta Police Department officers witnessed a vehicle stop in front of a home in the 900 block of North Toombs Street.
The officer then heard multiple gunshots come from the vehicle, according to an incident report from the Valdosta Police Department Monday morning.
The vehicle occupants, later identified as Demarcus Thomas, William Gordon, and Daniel Pinkney fled the scene in the vehicle and officers pursued them.
Eventually, the occupants stopped their vehicle and fled on foot, the report stated. Officers were able to locate the three subjects and arrest them.
A handgun that had been reported stolen previously was recovered along with other physical evidence connecting these individuals to this crime.
This appears to be an isolated incident that revolved around an argument that had taken place earlier.
This case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.
The offenders were arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail reference the following charges:
- William Gordon: Offense(s):Discharge of Firearms on or near public roadway (19EW04898); Reckless Conduct (19EW04899)
- Daniel Pinkney: Discharge of Firearms on or near public roadway (19EW04900); Reckless Conduct (19EW04901)
- Demarcus Thomas: Discharge of Firearms on or near public roadway (19EW04902); Reckless Conduct (19EW04903); Obstruction of an Officer (19EW04904)
