VALDOSTA, Ga. – Richard Fatzinger, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, passed away on October 13. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Friday, October 18, 2019.

Fatzinger has no family coming to his funeral, according to Music Funeral Services, who is handling his arrangements.

Music has worked with the V.A. to be sure he has an appropriate funeral with full military honors. To honor his service in the U.S. Air Force, Studstill Law Firm is sending flowers to the graveside.

“I hope our community will rally behind this man to honor his career serving our country by attending the service,” Nashville attorney Danny Studstill said.

Fatzinger, born January 24, 1952, was an Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam from 1971-1972. Fatzinger suffered from PTSD and lived alone in Valdosta with help of a friend that kept him fed and clothed.

Fatzinger received custodial care services from the State of Georgia and from the V.A. His friend and custodians were instrumental in bringing him happiness in his last days.

Fatzinger’s funeral is being handled by Music Funeral Services. Since there will be no family in attendance, staff of Colquitt Regional Hospice, his friend and his custodians will be in attendance.

If you would like to attend to honor this veteran, please attend this service at Riverview Memorial Gardens located at 3945 N Valdosta Road on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 2 p.m.
